Gent-er-View with @Elijahmygaze

Time definitely flies! This is the fourth Season of Gent-er-View, the interview section of my blog and  I’ve never imagined the acceptance of this section among  the visitors to my blog over the years. Thank to all of you that  have dedicated time to read the published interviews and enjoyed the content of this blog.

Mesmerized by the stunning content of her account , I decided to invite this fantastic woman , that I feel a soul-level connection with, to be part of Gent-er-View. I was flattered when she accepted my invitation. Last year this breathtaking and woman  was one of the few that supported with her beautiful photos all the photography exhibitions in my blog : Pearls: Perfected by Nature, Red: A SeriouslySexy Color, and B&W: The Extraordinary Simplicity .

Welcome to the 2024 season of , and hope you enjoy the interview as I did! Thanks Delilah to accept my invitation to participate in this Gent-er-View !

G: There are thousands of accounts in social media with similar content than yours, what do you think makes your content different from other accounts?

D: Well firstly I think there are lots of unique and engaging accounts with a similar content on X, I think what makes an account stand out is some personality and individuality so that is what I aim for – and I like to post images that have some quality whether that is the composition, the mood, the colours – otherwise it just feels like I am shoving my arse in the viewers face on the daily – although I guess I do that as well!

G:  You have an exquisite taste for images, I would say you are an innate photography curator , tell me more about your passion for the photography, when you started to take photos? Your first camera, what is your favorite type of photo (Black&White or color) ?, Who is your Favorite photographer?

D: Well thank you – I always liked art, design, photography, fashion – and when I was a teen I started taking photos with my dad’s camera – no recollection of what it was now, but gutted I did not keep his polaroid camera! Then life got in the way and I did not start again until recently. I find taking photos is a very mindful process, completely absorbing. I have a Fujifilm X100f – but I only take a few self pics using this – one day I will invest in a tripod and proper lighting because the quality of this camera is unreal. I tend to prefer colour, as it brightens my little world but black and white can look so stylish and atmospheric. I love the use of black and white in modern cinematography – I just watched that film El Conde and it was beautiful.

I love so many photographers – too many to mention so focusing on female photographers I would say Cindy Sherman for taking self portraits to a unique place &  Vivian Maier , who captured beauty in the mundane and took no glory from it in her lifetime

G: Social Media is taking control of people’s life. How do you manage the time you spend in social media with your real life?

D: It just a case of having boundaries – it is very easy to get caught up in social media land – but I work full time, I have family, friends – there is no extra time in my life to go too far down the rabbit hole – although I have had a good peek, as it were…

G: As I mentioned before, I have followed you for a while and noted more exposure in Social media,  lot of self-portrait and several explicit photography. What  do you think has motivated these changes and how far do you want to go with your account?

D: I have tried from quite chaste to very explicit and I think I naturally gravitate towards being suggestive, rather than the whole enchilada. That said, if a photo captures more than I intended, and it adds something to the pic then I might let that one through. If I was to be on another platform then I would be ok with some more explicit.

G: Does anybody in your real life knows about your account in X?

D: Not many people at all! Which I quite like actually….it is really a secret.

G: How do you select the outfit for the photos you post?

D: I do have a trade secret which I won’t reveal here. But I love dressing up, and I just go with whatever I feel on the day – or if I have seen something in a photo or a magazine then I have a bit more of a plan – sometimes it’s just first out of the drawer!

G: Interactions with followers is common with content creators , how do you manage the haters that criticize your posts? Is it the block button enough?

D: I don’t mind constructive criticism. Sometimes it’s useful, as I choose and edit all my work, and that can be difficult in itself so I do take things on board if they are fair. I don’t get a lot of haters thankfully, very few, but if it is someone being disrespectful or gross
then I tend to block without mercy.

G: Social media promotes thin as the “ideal” body type, and it’s not surprising that many women feel unsatisfied with their own bodies comparing themselves with that image that social media sell. In my opinion the beauty of your account is your irreverence against that social media “body type standard”. Any advice to the thousand women that feel increased sadness and isolation by that “ideal” body standard?

D: I don’t think I am in a position to offer advice, other than for me, taking self portraits, and seeing those of others, has been very positive in terms of how I see myself. I know there are ideal body types associated with social media, but I am not in that age group and don’t feel those restrictions as much – there are a lot of accounts with women of all body types expressing their sexuality
which I love.

G: Exposing your body in social media has any sexual effect on you?

D: I have always been a sexual person, and I am an exhibitionist, so this is perfect for increasing my hot times in the week – It has helped me to define and refine my sexual persona which is a win for every day life –

G: There is a thin line between erotica and porn accounts, do you visualize that your account will cross that line in the near future? Any plans to open an Only Fans account to monetize?

D: There is a thin line and I have crossed it, (not on X) then crossed back again. It is time consuming to make good content that people are paying for, and time is never on my side. I would like a platform where I can display all my photos and maybe offer some additional content for paid subscribers but it would have to be quite low key – no round the world cruises just yet!!
